An absolutely stunning antique Yorkshire Country House house keepers George Il Cuban Mahogany Chest Of Drawers. Exceptional quality with carved cheek detailing to thick single plank Cuban Mahogany top. Originating from the West Yorkshire area of Otley synonymous with Thomas Chippendale this rare piece of commissioned furniture is a one of a kind. All original brass drop handles with carry handles to side. Large oversize brass inset castors to under profiled bracket feet. Single plank dovetailed drawer liners.Rare oversize/larger size that would of been used by the housekeeper, brass inset wheels and carry handles for easy moving. Dating from circa 1750 this chest is superior in every aspect. We haven't seen anything near this quality for years. Numerous dealers who have seen this in situ real time have commented on the extraordinary craftsmanship and quality. We love it, coming home with us until it finds it's forever home.

Part of the collection of Dr Edward Percival Dickin. Born in Yorkshire in 1871, he studied in Paris and worked in Northampton Hospital. Other items from the collection included a rare Louis Vuitton zinc-covered 'Explorer' cabin trunk (malle cabine), circa 1895, the top inscribed 'Dickin', the sides initialed 'E.P.D.', the interior with original printed label, numbered '37942' which achieved the below at recent auction.
