As featured in the Paris exhibition 1878 confirming superior quality. Beautiful crisply carved back splats synonymous with Chippendale, swept carved front legs, swept rear legs, carved detailing to lower apron, deep mellow graining and patina to rosewood timbers. William Bertram & Sons also featured at the Crystal Palace exhibition (April 1882) and featured at the 1884 Exhibition of Furniture,Exhibition Road, South Kensington, London and were renowned for their Chippendale & Sheraton style furniture. The Furniture Gazette, 1 May 1888, recorded Bertram & Son supplying the Strand District board room.
