A beautiful, rare early vintage 'three step' 1227 Anglepoise lamp by Herbert Terry & Sons. Featuring the legendary three-tier cast iron base, sought after model in mottled black colourway. Rare first run model from 1938. Perforated shade, Crabtree bakerlite fittings. Rewired in antique braided flex, ready for use. 

Herbert Terry 1227 desk lamps started production in 1938 with the three step base, slimmer profile, perforated shade, heavy steel arms & three-piece lower 'fork' set this sought after lamp apart from later models. Now collectors  items and investments for the future.
Iconic pieces of design history as featured in the London Design Museum. Stamped Herbert Terry to base and rewired in antique braided electrical cord. A great statement light that would suit a multitude of settings from beside, desk, sofa, reading or hallway light.

As a genuine vintage/antique  there is wear and use commensurate with age.  Some wooden products may have signs of historic woodworm. As a precaution we apply a clear triple action woodworm treatment that also kills wet rot, dry rot and woodworm.
