A fabulous early antique metal bound Military ammunition trunk converted to a later Royal Fusiliers Captains travel trunk circa 1900. Great History With original hand painted labels, hand sign written to with Captains details. Wrought iron key plates and metal work. Thick cut hand mitred dovetailed joints with fabulous recessed hand forged hinges. We have gently refurbished the chest in house at Search & Rescued restoration workshops so this beautiful piece of social history can admired, enjoyed and used for another 100 years. We have gently stripped back the metal bindings, repaired and deep cleaned/waxed this beautiful chest. Great overall off black colour with worn hand painted signage in white and maroon detailing.
