A beautiful early Midcentury Eames “670” Lounge chair and “671” ottoman. Original tan leather with fabulous wear/patina. Circa 1970 produced for Herman Miller this fabulous iconic chair is one of the most sought after chairs of our time. The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

The husband and wife duo were two of the most influential designers the 20th Century. Famous for their groundbreaking designs, Charles and Ray Eames revolutionised modern furniture and believed that design should be agent for positive change. Furniture design was only one facet of their multidisciplinary careers. Pioneers in modern art, the pair were responsible for groundbreaking contributions in architecture, furniture design, film making, textile and graphic design.

Fair order for age, some wear to frame as expected with age, frame has been stripped at some point in it’s lifetime and re varnished. Leather no rips or tears, buttons missing of seat of chair and ottoman, neither detract from overall look or use of this beautiful pair. Will inject style into any setting and has the fabulous aged look that you only get from early models. Five plywood design with original leather to chair and ottoman. Powder coated black bases with five star base to chair (missing four of the adjustable height pads) correct four star base to ottoman (with all adjustable height pads).
