An Exceptional Early Antique Spanish Commode Chest Circa 1700

£1,150.00

An absolutely stunning early antique Spanish Commode chest of drawers with rare central writing drawer and green wash painted lined drawers. An exceptional example, with carved paw feet and gorgeous Gilt Ormolu drop swag brass escutcheons and centre lock plates. The beautiful handles have been replaced in the early 1800’s and the very early lock plates remain from when the chest was created in the 1700’s. They don’t come better than this example of fine antique furniture circa 1700. Originating in Spain and constructed from thick hand carved panels of oak the patina and detailing on this chest has to be seen to be appreciated. One of the earliest commode chests we have had the pleasure in dealing in.
