As featured in the Victoria and Albert Museum a beautiful early watercolour by renowned Royal Academy Artist Eliza Mary Burgess. Signed & dated 1908 this rare work of art is fabulous in all aspects. Internationally, works by Burgess have been shown at the Paris Salon and in the United States, Canada and Australia. Burgess was also a frequent exhibitor with the Royal Scottish Academy between 1920 and 1943 and also showed paintings with the Royal West of England Academy, of which she was an Associate member. Burgess works can also be found at The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, Graves Art Gallery in Sheffield and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
In original oversize gilt frame with exhibition gilt wood mount this rare survivor is simply beautiful. Soft hues of colour reflect the beautiful setting of children feeding the doves whilst watched by mother on the steps of an elegant Italian door entrance. A fabulous decorators piece with provenance.
