An exceptional early antique satin birch wood Heals and Son linen press/chest of drawers with shelving/cupboard. This statement piece of furniture screams quality, stunning craftsmanship with matching satin birch front panels, brass escutcheons/locks with original keys. Lovely detailed turned handles. Hand cut dovetailed mahogany lined drawers with easy brush inlaid borders, confirming even the inner workings of this piece are over and above the norm. Deep mellow patina and depth of grain to chest front doors, sides and drawer fronts again confirming high quality. Heals & Son stamp to top right drawer. Circa 1860 this piece of English cabinet making/furniture is simply beautiful. We love this piece and haven’t seen another version of this oversize model in 40 years of dealing in furniture. Looking at the back catalogues/history of Heals this will have been a showroom window dressing display as were only produced to order unlike the smaller models that were available in store.

As a genuine antique there is wear and use commensurate with age. Some knocks and dings to be expected, nothing that detracts from the use of look of the piece.
