A beautiful antique leather library/fireside arm chair. Brass castors and stamped rear feet confirming a chair of superior quality likely to emanate from one of the major retailers such as Howard & Sons, Shoolbred & Co,Hamptons or Cowtan & Son. Exceptionally comfortable with sprung base and wide seat area. Beautifully turned front legs with inset brass castors. Rear leg number stamped. The chair has a definite Howard & Sons look to the style/shape. Tooled Moroccan leather. Condition is as expected for a chair of this age. A well loved chair with age related wear, offered for sale in original order with some holes , tears and imperfections. All in all a fabulous example dating from circa 1840.
