Beautiful Antique English Fruitwood Sheraton Cockpen Elbow Chair Circa 1780

An absolutely gorgeous antique English fruitwood Sheraton Cockpen elbow arm chair. The perfect Country House chair. Fabulous form with good age and patina. Early example from circa 1780. The turned arms and splayed arm rests are one of a kind and something we have not seen previously. A cross over from George ll to Sheraton period. This chair should be in a museum given its design. Simply beautiful with a look that cannot be replicated. We adore this chair and have taken it home to sit by the fireside and be admired. One of the best elbow chairs we have ever had the pleasure of owning.

As a genuine antique/vintage item there is wear and use commensurate with age. Frame in excellent order for age, country house fabric nicely frayed to front confirming status of this beautiful example. Some wooden products may have signs of historic woodworm. As a precaution we apply a clear triple action woodworm treatment that also kills wet rot, dry rot and woodworm. Please look at all the images carefully and ask any questions pre purchase as we do not unfortunately offer refunds due to the size and shipping costs of our antiques/items.  All our items are available on line at Search & Rescued and other online stores.
