Exceptional Antique English Elm Captains Elbow/Desk Chair With Makers Initials & Original Oxidised Treacle Black/Red Paintwork Circa 1850

Find a better smokers/captains/elbow/desk chair than this beautiful example. The best we have had in to date. Remnants of original oxidised treacle black and red paintwork. Makers stamped Initials to seat W.L. Years and years worth of wear to wide grained elm saddle seat and back rests. Double cross stretcher, ash turned arms, carved legs and spindles with great detailing. This chair looks good from every angle and if furniture could speak this chair tells a story of years of use and being a well loved chair. Wider seat frame than the norm allowing for a more generous size. A simply stunning example circa 1850. We love it so much we have put it by our fireside at home.
