Stunning Antique Napoleon III Gold Velvet French Chaise Armchair With Oversize Matching Footstool Circa 1840 Exceptional Reupholstering

A stunning Napoleon III French chaise armchair with fabulous form and shape. Reupholstered in sumptuous piped gold velvet. This version with oversize matching footstool is very rare with carved turned legs. Matching the two together turns the chair into a very comfortable day/chaise bed. Solid thick beech frame and very comfortable with newly sprung base and pocket back. Newly upholstered hessian base and velvet piping to base of arm chair and stool. Dating from around 1840 this is a beautiful statement chair. Scrolled open splayed arms, large comfortable seat area. Restored/reupholstered in house by the Search & Rescued restoration workshops so this beautiful pair can admired, enjoyed and used for another 100 years plus.
