Antique Napoleon III Gold Velvet French Armchair With Oversize Matching Footstool Circa 1850

A beautiful  Napoleon III French armchair with fabulous form and shape. This version with oversize matching footstool is very rare with ebonised legs and original castors. Matching the two together turns the chair into a very comfortable day bed. Solid thick beech frame and very comfortable with sprung base and pocket back. Dating from around 1850 this is a beautiful statement chair. Scrolled open splayed arms, large comfortable seat area. Covered in sumptuous gold velvet. Good condition for age.
