Antique Period Library Fireside Armchair Circa 1870


A beautiful antique period library/fireside arm chair. Cope & Collinson Ceramic castors and fabulous design/form confirming a chair of superior quality likely to emanate from one of the major retailers such as Howard & Sons, Shoolbred & Co,Hamptons or Cowtan & Son. Exceptionally comfortable with sprung base and wide seat area. Beautifully turned front legs with inset  castors.The chair has a definite Howard & Sons Country House look to the style/shape. Recently reupholstered a fabulous example dating from circa 1870. 90cm height x 73cm depth x full width 84cm x seat height 35cm x seat depth 60cm x 47cm width.

As a genuine antique/vintage item there is wear and use commensurate with age. Some wooden products may have signs of historic woodworm. As a precaution we apply a clear triple action woodworm treatment that also kills wet rot, dry rot and woodworm.
