An exceptional early antique Georgian figured walnut Bureau/Desk . Circa 1730 this fabulous piece of statement furniture looks stunning from all angles. exceptional quality. Mahogany dovetailed lined drawers, secret hideaway, six drawer fronts and pigeon holes. Shaped valences and a central cupboard with brass escutcheons ; the fall-front with beautifully figured and matched veneers with chevron bandings; the lower part with lined drawers also with matched veneers and banded fronts, and fine gilt cast-brass handles and escutcheons. Rate sliding insert to lower drawer to desk area. Spectacular colour and lovely matched and grained veneers. Simply beautiful.
