An absolutely beautiful early Georgian provincial  elm, sycamore and yew chair. A fabulous survivor and great example. Rare mixed timber frame with turned legs and cross stretchers. Beautiful wear to front cross stretcher from years of feet rubbing against the wood. Fair condition for age. Circa 1790. Historic repairs showing a well loved chair. Deep patina and open grain to wood. The use of elm, sycamore and yew indicates that the chair is likely to emanate from the Suffolk area. The perfect side chair/table beside chair.
