A very pretty antique French “Vendange” table circa 1880 Direct from the Champagne region of Verzenay, this table originates from the Moët et Chandon Champagne House. Vendange tables are integral to French wine history. The tilt top function allows them to be stored in cellars and easily transported for wine testing. The vendange, wine harvest, begins in August and can finish as late as the end of October. Once months of hard work come to an end, it's time to taste the wine and celebrate with friends and family. This beautiful example table features lovely patina and swept trestle supports giving beautiful shape to the table. A rare example in good order for age.
Table folded 122cm height, 112cm width, 37cm depth. Open: width 112, 74cm height, 72cm height to underside.
