A beautiful rare French Provincial farmhouse solid walnut Refectory Dining Table.
Beautiful table top with wide plank construction and deep mellow patina. Beautiful carved tapered legs with peg and tenon joints. Original dovetailed deep walnut lined cutlery drawers with bronze centre drop handles. Altogether a very fine example. The perfect statement table in rare walnut construction.
These are highly sought after tables and getting harder to find with the classic early French profile. A fabulous statement piece of furniture and sought after large size. This fabulous table had been commissioned by a French client who wanted a replica of their family walnut table that had seen better days. Constructed at great expense in the style of an 1800’s antique French tapered leg to exact copy their original table. The use of very high grade thick walnut confirms superior quality and we have been informed the table was purchased at a figure of £8,000 on original purchase. Unlike many tables we sell of the period that have suffered wood worm or re tipping of the legs this table benefits from a more recent construction in the early 50’s thus no woodworm or major faults. Also very handily the legs can be removed from the table to allow the table to be constructed in hard to reach areas. Rare in all aspects!

As a genuine antique/vintage item there is wear and use commensurate with age. Drawer liners rear have slight damage (not visible nor detracts from use). One of the table legs has slight movement, does not detract from use or look of table. Some wooden products may have signs of historic woodworm. As a precaution we apply a clear triple action woodworm treatment that also kills wet rot, dry rot and woodworm. Please look at all the images carefully and ask any questions pre purchase as we do not unfortunately offer refunds due to the size and shipping costs of our antiques/items.
