A stunning one of a kind English Sussex oak handmade single slab/plank dining table of exceptional quality. Technically one of the most difficult tables ever built from timber. All made from English oak from Sussex. Named the 667 as this is the detailing of how many hand cut joints it took to create this masterpiece. The build by local master craftsmen took over five weeks and hundreds of years of knowledge passed down generation to generation of cabinet makers to create this extraordinary piece of art. The philosophy behind the build was to make everything the hard way. The way nobody else would think of working. A table like no other. When constructing the table a bullet from around the time of Second World War was found lodged in it, this is what makes the black detailing on the top. Every part of this piece has been made from a single slab/plank of English oak. We can trace the provenance of all timbers used, from where they were felled due to old age, where it was milled and where it was given a second life. The tree may have passed but it will live on longer than its makers and new owners.
