A very rare Midcentury hand embossed copper lampshade showing the now endangered species of the Sable antelope from the Zambezi River. This beautiful all original shade originated from Botswana and is a piece of tribal art hand made for the local market. Only 15% of the species of the Sable antelope remain in South Africa. Stamped makers initials to base. A very tactile piece of history, dating from 1950. Mounted on a large custom made lamp base to add drama and statement to any setting. The shade shows the antelope grazing in woodland scrub. Fabulous patina and wear from years of use. The perfect lounge/living room/study light/lamp.
Rewired and ready to use.
92cm height (including base) 40cm width (full width of shade) . Shade height 31cm.
As a genuine vintage/antique there is wear and use commensurate with age. Some wooden products may have signs of historic woodworm. As a precaution we apply a clear triple action woodworm treatment that also kills wet rot, dry rot and woodworm. Please look at all the images carefully and ask any questions pre purchase as we do not unfortunately offer refunds due to the size and shipping costs of our antiques/items. All our items are available on line at Search & Rescued and other online stores.
