A beautiful early antique Parisian “Patisserie” preparation table. A fabulous survivor from circa 1880. Original thick single slab grey veined marble top with hand routed detailing. Exceptional hand carved bamboo inlays/detailing confirming superior quality that were to show off the piece when in use/displayed within the shop/patisserie. Peg and tenon joints, two central wide plank dovetailed deep drawers/storage that would have originally held the “pâtissier” pasty chefs tools of trade. Recessed lower shelf to store/place bowls and trays. Altogether a very fine example and a rare piece of furniture. These are highly sought after tables which are used as intended as preparation tables or as kitchen/home/hallway console tables. This piece looks good from all front/side angles with deep mellow graining to all sides. These statement pieces of furniture are getting near impossible to source and are great investments for the future to be used and admired for years to come. Waxed and ready to be used for another 100 years plus.
