£1,250.00

An absolutely beautiful piece of rare antique furniture. Constructed from quarter-sawn oak ash and Baltic pitch pine (a favoured material used at Howard & Sons) this stunning Aesthetic movement writing desk screams quality. The timbers used are the highest quality, with open graining. Brass escutcheon axe head handles of an ecclesiastical style, bamboo turned legs and decorative carved roundels. Tooled leather top with Grecian key motif. We cannot find another example of this quality on the market place, a true collectors piece of statement furniture. We have looked all over this fine desk/console and can only see Initial to underside and area where paper label may have been. No defined makers stamp, however from our knowledge and experience there can only be one maker and that is Howard & Sons. Circa 1870.

Height 74cm to top x 59cm to under plinth x 122 width x 53cm depth.
