An exceptional rare George I Burr walnut Bachelors chest circa 1720 of sophisticated design. Oak lined dovetailed drawers, caddy drawer, brushing slide and beautiful feather banding. The perfect statement piece of fine rare English antique Georgian furniture. Deep mellow patina with matched burr walnut panels. Elegant brass escutcheons adding opulence to this exquisite survivor.

Part of the collection of Dr Edward Percival Dickin. Born in Yorkshire in 1871, he studied in Paris and worked in Northampton Hospital. Other items from the collection included a rare Louis Vuitton zinc-covered 'Explorer' cabin trunk (malle cabine), circa 1895, the top inscribed 'Dickin', the sides initialed 'E.P.D.', the interior with original printed label, numbered '37942' which achieved the below at recent auction.
