An absolutely beautiful piece of furniture. Constructed from Golden Ash (a favoured material used at Howard & Sons) this stunning Aesthetic movement table screams quality. The timbers used are the highest quality, the grain follows to the marquetry inlay on the drawer. Mahogany inlaid trim to the sleek legs. Brass escutcheon handles of almost an ecclesiastical style, dummy drawer and open drawer with fine detailing and inlay. Stamped brass Cope & Collinson castors (favoured by Howard & Sons). We cannot find another example of this quality on the market place a true collectors piece of statement furniture. We have looked all over this fine table and can only see Initial to underside and area where paper label may have been. No defined makers stamp, however from our knowledge and experience there can only be one maker and that is Howard & Sons.
Condition is good for its age circa 1900. One of the three hinges to the right hand side underneath of leaf is missing some screws, two pieces of mahogany inlay to underside of leaf leg top are missing. Neither of these points detract from the look use or enjoyment of this fine piece of furniture.
