Mid Century armchairs by prolific Brazilian architect and furniture designer, Sergio Rodrigues (1924-2014), having the original natural leather belted/buckled suspension seats held by a walnut frame with bentwood arms. Known for his stylish yet comfortable seating, Rodriguez is often called “the father of modern Brazilian design” for accurately capturing the spirit of his country in his iconic designs. Circa 1960s.
These are becoming one of the most desirable designs for collectors of mid-century furniture.
Like many of his contemporaries, Rodrigues combined fabric, and leather with nicely grained woods, such as polished walnut, teak, oak, and rosewood. “The piece of furniture is not just the shape, not just the material which is made but also something inside it. It's the piece's spirit. It's the Brazilian spirit. It's the Brazilian furniture”
Fabulous joinery and great attention to detail with brass work to belts/studs. Price per chair. Four available.

As a genuine antique / vintage item there is wear and use commensurate with age. None of these detract from look or use of the piece and are very common in pieces of furniture of this age. Some wooden products may have signs of historic woodworm. As a precaution we apply a clear triple action woodworm treatment that also kills wet rot, dry rot and woodworm. Please look at all the images carefully and ask any questions pre purchase as we do not unfortunately offer refunds due to the size and shipping costs of our antiques/items.
