A very rare and early antique survivor. This absolute showstopper of a Jacobean Refectory/Serving Table is simply stunning. Circa 1630 this beautiful example is all about the patina & carved detailing. Huge hand carved square peg & tenon jointed cannon legs. Thick three plank table top with fabulous depth of colour. Fabulous looking from all angles this will suit as intended as a dining/serving table or as a centre island/console. Lovely hand carved detailed to apron base to all sides, original timbers and wear associated with age. Some modifications/historic repairs as expected with tables of this age. Cracks to frame and top which are common with age and use, none detract from use or overall look and it is to be appreciated and used for another 100 years plus.
These are highly sought after tables which are used as intended as preparation dining tables or as kitchen console islands/tables. This piece looks good from all angles with deep mellow graining to all sides. These statement pieces of furniture are getting near impossible to source and are great investments for the future to be used and admired for years to come. We have lightly refurbished the table with wax and woodworm treatment.
195cm Length x Depth 68cm x Height 77cm x Height to under plinth 74cm (thick three plank table top can be removed for easier transportation) Depth of table base 60cm.
As a genuine antique/vintage item there is wear and use commensurate with age. Some wooden products may have signs of historic woodworm. As a precaution we apply a clear triple action woodworm treatment that also kills wet rot, dry rot and woodworm. Please look at all the images carefully and ask any questions pre purchase as we do not unfortunately offer refunds due to the size and shipping costs of our antiques/items. All our items are available on line at Search & Rescued and other online stores.
