This is a fabulous mounted rare specimen of a cased taxidermic Rainbow Trout, 12lb 6ozs, caught by Eamon Bradley, Bayham Lake, October 8th 1988 by renowned 20th Century Fish Taxidermist 'Peter Stone'.

The beautiful all-original piece is mounted within the super quality bow-fronted 3-sided glazed case including 2-rows of gold leaf writing that reads:  Rainbow Trout, 12lb 6ozs, caught by Eamon Bradley, Bayham Lake, October 8th 1988.

The Trout is depicted within a riverbed naturalistic setting with reeds and gravel.

This is an extremely fine quality specimen that is original and in an overall exceptional original condition commensurate with it's age.

A fine quality piece and a great addition to any taxidermy collection or as a decorative piece of angling history.

 

Peter Stone was famous for his angling exploits in the 1950’s. He was author of thousands of articles and scores of books, and wrote the much read column, ‘Stone Me’, in Coarse Fisherman magazine. He had an incredible angling career, fishing and winning matches in the 1950’s and breaking the Thames match record in 1956. He then went on to catch numerous specimen fish, many from his beloved river Thames. From his love of fishing he became the top taxidermist of his time and his works are highly sought after and in numerous collections around the world.
