An absolutely beautiful and very rare Charles II hall chair. Dating from circa 1660 we love this fabulous statement piece of furniture. Constructed from Pollard Oak with hand carved panels, peg and tenon joints, thick rough cut oak with carved detailing. The shape/form of this chair is rare as is the marquetry work to back rest. Originating from Lancashire these chairs rarely come to the market as few have survived from the 1600’s. Some historic fixes to the chair confirming a well loved and valued chair. Recent sales of inferior chairs have realised £5,000 plus. Very tactile to touch and the highest quality for its age. Full height 93cm full width 56cm full depth 43cm seat height 40cm seat depth 39cm seat width 64cm back rest 55cm.
As a genuine antique/vintage item there is wear and use commensurate with age. Some wooden products may have signs of historic woodworm. As a precaution we apply a clear triple action woodworm treatment that also kills wet rot, dry rot and woodworm. Please look at all the images carefully and ask any questions pre purchase as we do not unfortunately offer refunds due to the size and shipping costs of our antiques/items. All our items are available on line at Search & Rescued and other online stores.
