A beautiful early antique bleached walnut French Empire Commode chest of drawers. Dating from 1840/Louis Phillipe period. Furniture of the Louis Philippe period was the first to serve the bourgeoisie rather than royalty. Designers aimed to provide this busy class with comfort and practical living, whilst reflecting their social legitimacy with refined and stylish furniture.This is a serious statement piece of furniture. Exquisite detail to walnut book matched panels. The wonderful bleached finish gives this commode a modern clean design look. The timber itself has wonderful graining that almost disguises the four drawers. Fabulous  mellow patina to the overall look of this wonderful chest. Will suit a multitude of settings. Bathroom, bedroom, living room, kitchen or commercial setting this piece would not look out of place.
